Nineteen-year-old keyboardist Mary Rose was born blind. She recently graduated from the Kansas State School for the Blind, and is entering a two-year transitional program, which will prepare her for independent living and job experience.

She was a member of the Austin, Texas-based group The Spinrockers, and is now launching her solo career in Kansas City.

In this photograph, Mary Rose is performing as the featured musician at an event underwritten by Chick-fil-A of Overland Park, Kansas.

Congratulations, Mary Rose. You have a bright future.
