Midwest Innocence Project: Path to Freedom

Imagine being arrested, jailed, suffering through a public trial, convicted, and imprisoned for a crime you did not commit.

During the years Midwest Innocence Project was my client, I photographed a dozen people who were wrongfully convicted. Each spent years in prison, some on death row.

Currently, MIP is investigating or litigating 17 cases, and there are 900 requests for help waiting to be reviewed.

To remain open and keep fighting, they need $500,000.

Federal-grant cuts have forced a reduction in staff, and the Board of Directors may have to decide by October if MIP is able to continue operating.

If you are considering donating, every donation made by August 1, 2026, will be matched up to $50,000.
