"Christmas, 2020. Christian church. No nativity scene. No brightly-lit decorations.

On the main doors of this Baptist church in Kansas City, Missouri, hang two simple wreaths.

As an alternative to Christmas adornment, one sees 173 crosses honoring those who lost their lives to violence in Kansas City this year."
