Floyd Scott Bledsoe will receive $7.5 million for spending 16 years in prison for crimes he did not commit.
His brother confessed to the rape and murder, then recanted.
According to a prior lawsuit, Jefferson County, Kansas, authorities persuaded his brother, Tom, to recant his confession, and authorities framed Floyd by hiding evidence of his innocence.
Later, in a suicide note, the brother again confessed, and Floyd was ultimately exonerated.
Midwest Innocence Project was crucial to his release and exoneration.
