So, while completing a Pathology residency during the day, he attended law school at night.

Dr. Wheeler was Mayor of Kansas City, Missouri, for two terms in the 1970's, followed by Missouri State Senator.

He passed, October 25, at age 96.

When I photographed these wonderful people years ago for the attached brochure, approximately 225,000 adults in the Kansas City area functioned at the lowest literacy level.

The project was for Literacy KC, and won 1st Place in the Informational Brochure category of the Philly Awards.

Friday, October 21, 2022 10 am PT, the band Berlin will premiere the video for their new single, "On My Knees", on the Berlin YouTube channel.

Featured in the video is artwork by Android Jones, the digital painter.

When vocalist Terri Nunn (pictured) experienced the digital paintings of Mr. Jones, she immediately wanted to work with him.

A year later, when she and Berlin band members, John and Thom, discussed and wrote, "On My Knees", they went straight to Jones for artwork to aesthetically enhance their video.

After attending Ringling College of Art and Design, Mr. Jones interned at George Lucas' Industrial Light and Magic, then founded Massive Black, an art-development company in Los Angeles.

Jones now resides in Colorado; his studio is in a sizable barn he adapted.

Remembering Bob Brents

When I made this photograph, the morning of Wednesday, October 12, 2022, I knew Bob Brents would appreciate the artistic value, and write a complimentary comment on social media.

Bob passed away unexpectedly that day, and never enjoyed the image.

I first photographed Bob many years ago, when he worked for Hendrick Automotive Group.

When I was researching The Willows Maternity Sanitarium for a story, Bob surprised me with the revelation he was born there, and subsequently adopted.

So long, my friend.

Sam Brownback

Former Kansas Governor, Sam Brownback was raised on his family's farm near Parker, Kansas.

At Kansas State University, he was elected Student Body President, and has worked as a teacher, broadcaster, and attorney.

His spiritual life became more important following an encounter with cancer in 1995.

I also met his wife, and photographed his daughter; both were so gracious.
